Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has reported on natural and war-related disasters for nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of people who live in these places. Curry covered the conflicts that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter who was most well-known for her work as a reporter on the Today show a morning news program that was broadcast on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was renowned for her work on reporting the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries as well as on natural disasters. Curry's father was a sailor with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents began to meet while her father was serving in Japan. In the wake of her father's involvement in the military that they had to move around a lot. Curry graduated from high school in Ashland Oregon. The University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. Then she was promoted to the position of an anchor as well as reporter at KGW which was an NBC station in Portland, Oregan. In the course of four years, she was hired as a reporter by KCBS TV in Los Angeles. During her KCBS-TV relationship of six years, she was awarded 2 Emmy Awards.
